I have an older Blackberry, the one with the trackball that always sticks and sputters at the wrong times. Some time ago, I wrote about cleaning the trackball using hardly any tools except a paper clip safety pin (oops! It’s been a long time since I looked over that post).
Well, after two years, the trackball finally breathed its last today. No attempts to clean it (with more than just a paper clip, even!) worked, and I finally decided to get it changed at the cell phone store.
Armed with a new trackball, the phone feels like brand new. Thus, I have found the one redeeming quality of the trackball:
It makes you feel like you just bought a brand new phone.
I can now stare at the new non-trackball Blackberries without any contempt or envy, for my phone is just as good as those (at least for the next two years)!
